OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — World Missions Ministries (WMM) has awarded eight Antioch Grants for 2024 totaling over $668,000.
The 2024 Antioch Grants are not only significant as a record amount given to these projects, but, for the first time in WMM history, all Antioch Grant requests brought before the WMM Council were approved.
Council member Dr. Barbara Carter describes the moment of the Grants’ approval by saying, “A holy hush came over us as we pondered the great mercy and faithfulness of God. It was the first time every request for an Antioch Grant would be fulfilled. We put business aside, bowed our heads, and took several minutes to spontaneously thank God for His goodness.”
The eight awards are being allocated as follows:
- Bujumbura, Burundi: $10,000 was awarded for a church building.
- Puerto Maldonado, Peru: $50,938.89 was awarded to a church building and future missions institute.
- Dodoma, Tanzania: $61,600 was awarded for a church project.
- Romania: $68,000 was awarded for a kindergarten/daycare and dental office.
- New Assiut, Egypt: $75,000 was awarded for the New Assiut Gospel Preaching IPHC Headquarters.
- Phetchabun, Thailand: $100,000 was awarded for a Hope Center in Thailand.
- Ratchaburi, Thailand: $103,000 was awarded for a church-based training center.
- Lahore-Punjab, Pakistan: $200,000 was awarded for the Pakistan IPHC Regional Ministry Centre.
In 2014 WMM began strategically reprioritizing Antioch Grants as part of its departmental budget and Global Outreach (GO) emphasis. Executive Director Bishop J. Talmadge Gardner wrote of the grants’ historical impact on the recipients saying, “To date, the response from our donors has been positive in that they are able to see their ministry resources leaving an indelible imprint on the fabric of a country.”
This year, World Missions Ministries recognizes the generosity of our IPHC churches throughout who gave to the Global Outreach Offering and made it possible to fund all 2024 Antioch Grant requests. Additionally, Tim Case Ministries committed $194,000 to be allocated by World Missions, and Hope Center Ministries contributed $25,000 to partner in the Hope Center Thailand project.
