A BUSY YEAR SO FAR: Greetings dear friends. Hope all is well in your life. Most of our correspondence lately has been about Ukraine on the WMM website (click the “Updates from Ukraine” slide in the big banner at the top of the page on iphc.org/missions).
UKRAINE: While this terrible war rages on, I just sent you an update of good news that is happening because of the war. As you can imagine, there is a high fear factor in Ukraine, making many neighboring countries and people very open to the gospel of Christ. As a result, we are deliberately planting new churches. We have just recently opened two new churches in Poland, another in Germany, and as people “relocate” across Ukraine, we will continue planting even while the war rages. The “Church” is the body of Christ and can be mobile to plant in a home, cultural hall, or room in a hotel.
ISRAEL: Even with all the standard turmoil in Israel we report that the Messiah is at work among some of His people. We realize that there is only a minority of the Jewish population who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Messiah, but that minority is expanding and sharing the GOOD NEWS.
Other good news is that IPHC Living Israel will own their first church building in Israel as of our final payment on September 15 on its 1.2 million-dollar USD purchase. This is truly a Miracle! It all happened fairly fast beginning earlier this year. We give the Lord ALL the glory as He brought the whole project together. The next step is to find a replacement to the Monastery they have rented for the last 17 years, which houses 30 occupants, a Bible School, conference room, and a rehab (detox) center. Our 35 house churches are all in rental houses scattered across Israel.
POLAND: Several million Ukrainian refugees have fled to Poland. Gayana Omelchenko heads up one of our refugee centers and her sister and husband have started a church with now over 40 persons.
ROMANIA: Our churches in Romania have taken in and looked after Ukrainian refugees coming across their border. You can imagine millions of displaced persons that lost their homes, furnishings, and jobs.
Also, in two village locations, we have asked for your help for our Peniel Elderly Home that ministers to the homeless and orphaned elderly. If you can help with ongoing expenses, we would appreciate your support. The project is “Peniel Elderly #42013P”.
HUNGARY: Home of the European Awakening Base, has just gathered the youth together for EuroQuest. The potential of our European youth will give you cause to rejoice. Our leader there, Bishop Peter Lakatos, has just finished another summer worship training camp with over 1,000 people in attendance. May Hungary’s fire among the youth burn across Europe.
TURKEY: We are able to reach a large Turkish population via internet, satellite TV, and Facebook weekly messages brought by Ismail Serinken. He even has a regular following among the more than two million Turks who live in Germany. His audience platform is aimed at a 99.8% Muslim audience.
PERSONAL: Carol and I so much appreciate your prayers and financial support. Our BIG milestone is our 60th wedding anniversary on September 29th. Yes, we were very young back then. We also enter our 37th year in missions in October. Many blessings to all we have met along the way.
Lots of love,
Bob & Carol Cave
