“Alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and students gathered in the lovely Holmes Memorial Church on March 3 for the 2017 Alumni Banquet. There was a near-capacity crowd for what quickly became a truly special occasion. The assembly was blessed by the Ministry of LaVerne and Edith Tripp, alumni and faithful supporters of Holmes… As the evening progressed, three new awards were instituted; these will be recurring awards presented every year from now on. 2017 Awards are:
Alumnus of the Year: Bishop Jim Whitfield
Missionaries of the Year: Hobert and Marguerite Howard
Lifetime Achievement Award: Dr. James D. Leggett
We thank God for the lives and ministries of these precious people. The influence they have had on others extends far beyond our perception. Truly, as is often said, only heaven will reveal those blessed by these faithful servants of the Lord!”

Hobert and Marguerite Howard served in India for over 60 years. Their commitment to global missions is unparalleled; even after retirement, they continue to work diligently so the name of Christ can be known around the world. IPHC World Missions Ministries is blessed to partner alongside them in ministry and grateful that Holmes Bible College will continue to honor their legacy through this annual award.
