It is a joy to communicate with you again about all the things that the Lord is doing in this place. First, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your constant prayers and generous financial support. Without you, none of what we are doing here could be accomplished. Your support is the fuel for the engine to carry out the Great Commission. Without this, the work that the Lord Jesus Christ tasked us to do here could not be carried out. Christ has commissioned His Church, the Body of Christ, to participate in the Great Commission. Therefore, none of us are excluded from participating in this great task.
The Oasis Center
This past month, we celebrated Easter with the girls in the red-light district and gave out nearly 200 beautiful necklaces that we made ourselves. Since the Orthodox individuals celebrate the resurrection of Jesus a Sunday after us, we did our outreach on April 19 so that we were in the middle of the Christian and Orthodox celebrations. We did it this way since many of the people of the district come from places where the orthodox religion is predominant. They were very happy to receive them, and on our subsequent visits, many of them were wearing these necklaces. To give you an idea of the presence we have created in this community, we make an average of 15 visits and hand out approximately 300 cups of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate each month. In addition, we offer eight meals per month, having around 10 to 15 people at the table each time.
Centraal Community
The activities at the church continue as usual, and it is wonderful to see that every week there are new visitors. Our task is to find ways so that they could become not just a visitor but also integrate and be added to the church. We have a full house every Sunday to the point that Pastor Bill is looking for a bigger place to have our meetings. This phenomenon happens in both locations, Antwerp and Brussels. On Easter Sunday, we celebrated a united worship service in Mechelen, a city located between the two churches, to facilitate transportation. We could feel God's presence there, and five people gave their lives to Christ. Glory to God!
Eupen
It was also a great joy to be present at the meeting where we prayed for the new pastor of Die Brücke Church in Eupen. Thank you for the life of Connor, Larissa, and their baby Rosanna who come from England and have just rented a house in this city. The Lord's work continues to grow, and these workers are ready to serve Him.
As a praise report, regarding my health, the medical studies I underwent last month revealed the presence of two polyps in my colon. Thank God, they were removed during the same procedure. The doctor assured me by saying that they were small and that at least for five more years, I am free from developing any similar problems.
Prayer Requests
- This month, we will be holding our second women's gathering of the year for both campuses, where I will be bringing the message. The subject will be Mother-Daughter Relationships. We will also be having an activity together. May the Lord fill me with wisdom to transmit His word.
- The person in charge of the Oasis Center is traveling for three weeks to the United States, and a great part of the responsibility of the Center falls on me. I ask for your prayers of protection, for Shawn while she is traveling, and for me during her absence.
- Finally, please pray that all of my health problems may be properly taken care of as I continue with my medical checkups.
My prayer for you all is that the Lord will prosper you in every area of your life as your soul prospers.
"The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace." (Numbers 6:24-26)
Blessings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Lulu Salazar
