SCRIPTURE
Joshua 3: 2 – 4
2 And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host; 3 And they commanded the people, saying, When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it. 4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.
I Kings 17: 7 – 9
7And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land 8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, 9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
INTERPRETATION
Joshua 3:2 -4
Entering into the promises of GOD requires a continual willingness to leave “our place” and allow the presence of GOD (represented by the ark) to lead us into places we have never been.
I Kings 7 – 9
GOD commands Elijah to leave a place to which HE had sent him, and go to where he (Elijah) was now being sent.
PRAYER POINT
Pray for the courage and resolve to leave “our places” of comfort, familiarity, routine, etc. And follow HIS presence as HE leads us into new places of purpose and promise.
