We started Life Church Cebu three and a half years ago now! Can you believe it? Over the course of this journey, we have provided weekend services and relevant activities for engagement, outreach, and discipleship. Life Groups, Upward Sports, and Life Coffee House & Library are a few examples of our efforts to reach the Cebu community.
During our very first Big Event, many brought their families and friends to a Bible-believing church for the first time. One such person was Jeff, who at the time was the only Christian in his family. As his wife and children began to attend with him, Jeff made a tough decision to move overseas to provide much-needed income for his family. He confided in me as he left, saying that he had encouraged his wife and kids to stay in church, but was worried because they had not yet made a personal decision to follow Christ. During the last three years that Jeff has been overseas, and through intentional outreach and engagements, his wife, Heidi, and their children wholeheartedly accepted Christ and followed the Lord in Believer’s baptism! As Christ changed Heidi’s life, she shared her new-found faith with the people she is closest to, her parents. Just recently, her parents held hands, bowed their heads, and accepted Christ as their Savior. GOD ANSWERS PRAYER! The moment His peace and assurance of salvation swept over this couple is a moment that will forever be etched into my mind.
