Flooding in Kerala, India, affecting the IPHC-Father's House Theological Seminary

Rev. Dr. James Matthew, the principal of the IPHC-Father’s House Theological Seminary in Ranni, Kerala, India, has reached out to People to People for help.

A flash flood affected the Seminary on August 1, 2026. By God’s grace and protection, all twenty-four students and staff are safe, for which we are deeply thankful to God and our prayer partners. Unfortunately, the seminary's ground floor was severely affected by the flood. The chapel, student dormitory, classrooms, kitchen, dining hall, and office rooms were inundated. We were able to move some furniture, utensils, and other movable items to safety before the water rose further. However, several pieces of furniture, electrical equipment, and materials being used for ongoing construction were damaged. We are now facing the difficult task of cleaning, repairing, and restoring the affected facilities so we can return to our normal academic and ministry activities. We humbly request your prayers for our students, faculty, and staff as we go through this difficult situation. We would also be deeply grateful for any support or assistance that may be extended toward the restoration of the damaged facilities.
