We are excited to share the 2016 Statistical Report for World Missions Ministries Division. We thank the Lord for an increase in our number of churches: 9,842 in 2015 compared to 10,684 in 2016 [an increase of 842 churches] and members: 1,466,119 in 2015 compared to 1,567,975 in 2016 [an increase in 101,856 members]. Most of the increase has occurred on the continent of Africa where we have crossed the one million membership threshold with 1,074,117 members [988,885 in 2015].
Our church in Ethiopia seems to be experiencing unprecedented revival and growth. They report 410 churches and a membership of 463,247. In one of Ron Wooten’s email notes, he stated the following: “They report more than 20 churches with more than 2,000 members, and a few with close to 4,000 members. They also report more than 100 churches with over 1,000 members.”
I am grateful for the guidance and care that Regional Director, Ron Wooten has given to Ethiopia. He has been telling us that something special/supernatural is transpiring in Ethiopia for the past three years. We acknowledge this as the Lord’s doing and are humbled by this outpouring of His spirit in that country.
You may be interested to know that India has included house church numbers in their statistics for the first time. They report having 694 house churches. The prerequisites for classification as a house church in IPHC North India are similar to our guidelines in the US for planted/transfer member churches.
Thank you for partnering with us in our efforts to reach the nations with the gospel and love of Jesus Christ.
