A Fruitful Year
The year 2017 was one of the most fruitful years of ministry. A year of Harvest! ‘We plant and sow, but it is God who adds the increase.’ New doors of opportunity have expanded in Asia and South America to mobilize and send missionaries, then provide training to care for those missionaries. The longevity of a missionary often hinges on proper care after they are sent to the field.
In 2017, extended periods of time were spent in Asia, Europe, and South America. Increase usually comes with an increase in labor, and that has been true for me. However, when God gives the increase you labor in peace. Christ said He came to give us peace, which is accessed as we cast our cares upon Him.
God’s Faithfulness
Upon arrival at the Beijing airport, I was told my flight had been canceled and that I could not leave the airport for 30 hours. Fear arose in me, and I heard, “I have you trapped now.” I had a large sum of ministry funds I was delivering. How would I stay awake for 30 hours to ensure safety, then physically survive a 12-hour flight? I prayed “God you are not surprised by this event and I ask you not only to protect me but to provide a place where I will comfortably rest.” Yes! I asked God to provide a bed in an airport terminal. I came upon a corner that had a sign that read “sky lounge” and had three lounge chairs that laid flat. “Thank you, Lord, for a bed.” I was there alone, so I prayed “God send a lady to sleep on the other chair as protection” – here came a Chinese lady. I slept for six hours that night. Be in peace – God is not surprised and He is able to provide what you need.
Looking Ahead
In January 2018, I launch a Global Mission Care organization. One of the main goals is to bring the veterans of mission care together to provide training around the world. Requests have come from Ecuador, India, and South Korea, so the new year is off with a bang.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support. You are essential to God’s global ministry.
Your Missionary,
Rhonda ‘Roni’ Pruitt
