OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — On Thursday, May 11, 2023, the World Missions Ministries (WMM) Council unanimously approved and commissioned the Revs. Edgardo and Rosana Banaga and the Rev. Abigail Yates as the newest WMM missionary status missionaries.
WMM’s sending legacy throughout IPHC history has led to over 102 countries with an IPHC ministry presence. Furthermore, because of each missionary’s personal obedience to the Lord’s call, burden for the nations, and heart to take the Gospel of Jesus to the lost, countless souls have been added to the Kingdom of God. Now, with the Council’s approval, the Banagas and Yates join the ranks of WMM missionaries who faithfully carry that call.
Edgardo and Rosana Banaga of the IPHC Pacific Western Conference have faithfully served as the senior pastors of Harvest International Church for 31 years. Recently, the couple began to feel the Holy Spirit leading them to a new season of ministry. Together, they began to sense a deep burden for WMM and a conviction to mentor and equip pastors and leaders in the Philippines, and to reach the countries in the Indo-Pacific region with no established ministry presence. The Banagas are proven and effective church planters. With their help, WMM believes to see an acceleration of church planting efforts in the Philippines and the whole Indo-Pacific. Following the support of their conference leaders and the WMM Council, the Banagas are preparing for their first term on the field, and will begin the itinerating process to raise the necessary funds for life and ministry in the Philippines.
Abigail Yates of the IPHC Heartland Conference came to WMM under The Awakening where she first served as a Summer Intern in 2015. In the years following, she participated in their Traditional Internship and in The Awakening’s On My Way program. Throughout 2022 Yates served at The Awakening’s International Training Base in Chile as a WMM Short-Term Missionary. After dreaming about being a missionary at the young age of 7 years old, Yates is now an IPHC missionary. Under WMM missionary status, she will continue to serve The Awakening in South America—though now in Argentina—alongside her husband, Mariano de Silva.
