On March 1-3 in Deltona, Florida, HGM, in partnership with Bishop Blas Ramirez and Red De Ministerios Sonshine, hosted a Church Planting Intensive for the Hispanic community. There were 137 people in attendance. Most of the attendees were from Florida, but others came from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Of the 137 in attendance, 13 couples and 19 single individuals were identified by Bishop Ramirez as having strong church planting potential. Many of the others expressed a desire to be on a church planting team.
Luis Avila, Director of Hispanic Ministries said, “the people were very eager to hear and learn about the HGM church planting system. The approach taught was very different from what most of the attendees were accustomed to. Still, the feedback from the people was very positive.” He added, “many stated they wish they had the information earlier. One church planter told his team after one of the small group sessions that they were going back to lay a stronger foundation. It was obvious that Bishop Ramirez did a great job of creating high expectations, in anticipation to the intensive.”
The next HGM Spanish-speaking Church Planting Intensive will be April 20-22 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, hosted by Bishop Hector Andrade.
The next English-speaking Church Planting Planting Intensive will be March 29-30 in Salem, Virginia. To register for intensive, please visit www.plantachurch.us.
