CHAPLAINS OF HOPE

Chaplains of Hope is a ministry dedicated to serving your community alongside local pastors. We believe in fostering harmony and collaboration among churches and community organizations to address spiritual needs and offer a message of hope.

Chaplains of Hope offers a comprehensive training program to equip you for this important ministry. The program consists of three levels of courses, providing a strong foundation crisis intervention and spiritual guidance.

Upon successful completion of the training, you will receive your official Chaplain of Hope credential. This credential signifies your commitment to serving others and equips you to:
- Work collaboratively with local pastors and churches.
- Offer spiritual support and guidance to individuals and families in need.
- Represent the message of hope and compassion in your community.

LEVELS OF TRAINING

LEVEL ONE

  • Serving in harmony with the local pastor
  • Biblical approach to poverty
  • Focus on bringing hope to the five pillars of a community
  • Focus on personal relationships
  • Practical application of training

LEVEL TWO

  • Mental Crisis Awareness
  • Development of Response to a Mental Health Crisis
  • Understanding the Biblical mandate
  • Variations of understanding mental health crisis awareness
  • How to respect and assist “first responders” and mental health responders appropriately

LEVEL THREE

  • Focus on personal care as a Community Missions Chaplain
  • Leading an “after-action debriefing”
  • The development of following the Holy Spirit in a crisis
  • Personal character development
  • Develop a deeper understanding of the “ministry of presence”
  • Expose the Community Missions Chaplain to advanced chaplaincy opportunities

Incorporate “COH” into the vocabulary of the IPHC.
Partner with the local conferences for training.
Offer training for local churches for 15 – 25 individuals in coordination with the Conference Bishops.
