On September 11, 2016, the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) is encouraged to join with thousands of churches throughout America for a time of prayer. The IPHC WIN Prayer Ministry is partnering with the Awakening America Alliance to offer congregations a special opportunity to participate in the Cry Out America grass roots prayer initiative. “This year is the fifteenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that served as a vital “wake-up” call to our nation. Our goal is to engage God’s people in prayer at 9/11 gatherings in all 3,143 U.S. counties and in thousands of churches throughout the nation.”
“Eleven minutes—that is the vision!
Eleven minutes—a united voice!
Eleven minutes to shake our nation and awaken the church!
PLEASE commit at least eleven minutes of your service time on Patriot’s Day, Sunday, September 11, to pray for revival in the church and spiritual awakening in our nation.
We ARE at war! Pray passionately! Pray desperately!
Eleven minutes to change the world. Let’s start a movement!
‘And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together . . .’ (Acts 4:31)”
– PCCNA President Dr. Jeff Farmer
This challenge echoes the plea of Dr. Ronnie Floyd, Dr. Doug Beacham and other denominational leaders in the nation. It should stir all of us to consider the importance of engaging in fervent, united prayer and action. History reveals that Great Awakenings are only birthed through extraordinary prayer. Although committing an entire morning worship service to prayer is not unusual for some congregations, for others eleven minutes of prayer would be extraordinary.
Pastors and churches can find helpful tools in English and Spanish to promote this significant prayer time at the Awakening America website. Prayer Service Leaders Guide (including video links from prominent Christian leaders) along with other free Preach2Engage resources are also available.
