Marriage Crisis: Pornography’s Destructive Impact

The faith community is facing a genuine crisis in our marriages. The sexualization of our culture and easy access to pornography are having a devastating impact on faithfulness, sexual purity and the strength of marriages. The impact is not only found among our congregations but among our church leaders as well.

Marriage is God’s design for intimacy and self-sacrificing love of one another. This intimacy is spiritual, emotional and physical and is uniquely designed by God for the blessing of His people.

The Religious Alliance Against Pornography (RAAP), which began in 1986, has been actively involved in uniting people of many faith groups against the issues of pornography. The International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) has been a member of this group for several years. In an effort to raise awareness and help the church address these issues, RAPP and the IPHC will offer two informational webinars in 2017. The first webinar is designed for families and will be held May 9, at noon EDT and May 18, at 8 p.m. EDT. This webinar will tell the real story of pornography’s impact on marriages and explore the extent of the problem within the faith community, the addictive nature of pornography and present practical strategies for hope and restoration.

This is a free event but registration is required. A second webinar will be held in the Fall and will focus on the issue of pornography and youth.

We believe these broadcasts will be a tremendous resource for IPHC pastors, churches and families. For further information, please contact IPHC Clergy Development.
