Bishop Gordon McDonald, general superintendent of the Pentecostal Holiness Church (PHC) of Canada, has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. While on a ministry trip in mid-January, he became ill and returned to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he went straight to the hospital. Since then he has been under medical care, and doctors are considering the best options for further treatment.
Thankfully Bishop McDonald has been released from the hospital and is now at home. Presiding Bishop and Mrs. Doug Beacham visited with the McDonalds the weekend of February 1-3, and the McDonalds expressed their gratitude for all the prayers offered by the IPHC family. The PHC Canada has responded with intense prayer and support for their bishop, his wife Glenda, and their family.
Bishop McDonald is well respected in the IPHC and global Pentecostal family. A wise leader and gifted communicator, he is a member of the IPHC Global Leadership Council, the IPHC Council of Bishops, Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches of North America, the Pentecostal World Fellowship, and Empowered 21. We join with thousands of Canadians and people around the world in our continued prayers for him.
Please unite your prayers with Presiding Bishop Doug Beacham as we believe for Bishop McDonald’s healing and for the Lord to give him renewed strength and energy, so he can fulfill his desire to continue serving the PHC Canada and IPHC family.
