The 2019 WIN Directors Retreat held at WinShape Retreat, October 8-11, 2019, provided a time for directors to reflect, grow, and strengthen one another. With representatives present from nine states, prayer focused on each ministry, our nation, and greater intimacy with God.
Special guest Jeff Eckart from Never the Same encouraged the group to be obedient to the call of intercession. “When you are saved, obedience is a duty; when you are surrendered, obedience is a delight,” he explained. As we surrender to His call, we walk in freedom and authority. God has called His people to take territory and believe for the supernatural.
Eckart challenged the group to intercede for an awakening among middle school and high school students in America. Through Claim Your Campus, over 35,000 students have been mobilized to pray on school campuses throughout the nation. Their vision is “to see students at every middle and high school praying for grace, peace, justice, and mercy.”
Believing that “moments mobilize movements,” Never the Same will host, Claim Your Campus 2020, a nationwide prayer event near Kansas City, to mobilize prayer on campuses across the United States. Over July 4thweekend, they are believing that 100,000 students will be equipped and empowered to carry the gospel to their campus and mobilize a national prayer movement.
We have yet to see the full impact this week of prayer will have on the church, ministries, and lives that were present. According to Dr. Lou Shirey, IPHC WIN director, “It is a great joy to watch and be a part of the WIN family. Our time together at WinShape greatly encourages us to see how God is working in us and then through us.”
