Teodor Bulzan was called into ministry 10 years prior to the 1989 Romanian Revolution. But it was after the Communist regime ended at Christmas in Romania that he took his leap of faith. On December 23, 1989, Teodor quit his job and began working in full-time ministry. He was only able to do so because God faithfully prepared Teodor for the freedom that would come after the revolution. “God called me and provided in all areas: church and my family. He is and remains faithful!” he shares.
A Scripture that has guided Teodor is Isaiah 54. He took it as a prophecy for his own life: a vision of what he could do and what was to come. Verses 2-3 state, “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back, lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities,” and verse 13 says, “All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.”
Like the Scripture teaches, Teodor was able to stretch his tent and strengthen his stakes when he began pastoring at Bethany Christian Center in Oradea, Romania, in 1991. He pastored there for over 20 years until, just this March, he transferred pastorship to his son, Tiberiu, completed by General Superintendent Bishop Doug Beacham. Teodor also passed the mantle of bishop to the PH churches in Romania to his other son, Timotei, in 2022. Teodor’s youngest sons also serve by helping with worship, and his daughter leads small group ministry. Teodor and his wife, Sanda, are also the proud grandparents of 12 grandchildren!
Throughout his life, Teodor has seen the Lord’s hands working in his life, church, and family. He wrote a book in which he describes how God has worked in his life titled At 25: An Obstacle Course from a Participant’s Perspective. “One word I can sure say: God is so gooooood!” Teodor appraises.
Teodor is grateful for the Lord’s provision and guidance, and it is his hope that everyone know how faithful God is, that He is working in Romania, and that He is good.
