The International Pentecostal Holiness Church Research and Archives Center in Oklahoma City is offering two paid internships in June 2026. These will be compensated at $1,400 each. Interns will work on site at the Global Ministry Center in Oklahoma City, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting June 1 and ending June 19, 2026. Interns can request accommodations in student housing on the Southwestern Christian University campus, located adjacent to the Global Ministry Center. Archives will cover dorm housing, if requested. Housing outside of the SCU campus, food, travel, and transportation are not provided.
Interns will focus on the J. H. and Blanche King Collection. They will learn the basics of archival work, which includes instruction as well as hands-on work in the vaults and with materials; they will assist in shaping materials for display in the King House; and they will participate in assembling photos and historical materials for a book devoted to the King family. Once published, proceeds from this book will help support the King House. Interns must be able to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds.
Prior to June 1st, interns will be asked to complete the required reading on the King Family and IPHC history. All reading materials will be provided at no cost to the interns. Interns will meet via Teams with the Director to review these materials prior to June 1st.
Optional field trips to local museums will be provided on Saturday, June 6th and June 13th, and a celebration dinner will be held at a restaurant in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown on the evening of Thursday, June 18, 2026. Admission fees and the celebration dinner will be covered at no cost to the interns. Transportation to Reflection Church, located in Oklahoma City, will be provided on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings, if requested.
To apply, please send your resume, unofficial transcripts, and a cover letter detailing your interest in the internship to Dr. Kristen Welch, Director of IPHC Archives and Research, at kwelch@iphc.org. A letter of recommendation from a professor should be emailed on your behalf directly to Dr. Welch.
Applications are due December 1, 2025. Qualified applicants will be contacted for interviews to be held in January 2026 via Teams. Interns will be selected no later than February 1, 2026.
