Report from North Carolina Conference DRUSA Coordinator, Gordon Knox The North Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen spent its third day serving well over 1500 meals. As the need for meals increase, so does the need for volunteers. DRUSA is presently organizing a replacement Kitchen Team to begin serving on Friday. These trained and certified staff members will be from Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church in theAppalachian Conference and Celebration Center from the Ephesians 4 Network. In addition to the kitchen team, the DRUSA office has received numerous calls from individuals who would like to volunteer in some capacity. According to Gene Sizemore, pastor at White Sulphur Springs, there are many needs, particularly with mud-out and clean-up. DRUSA has deployed the South Carolina Conference Mobile Grill Team to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The grill will assist the North Carolina Team and enable quicker service for mass care feeding. |

UPDATE #2: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA |
Report from Golden West Conference M25 Coordinator Pastor Billy Woods Pastor Woods reports that his church, Hope Christian Center in Bakersfield, California, is serving as a distribution center for supplies to meet the needs of displaced individuals and families who have lost their homes and/or their possessions. The distribution center is currently providing water, non perishable food items, hygiene kits, clothing, and toys for children. The operation is very organized and people from all parts of Southern California are expressing sincere appreciation for the generous donations. At the moment, 300 volunteers are serving at the distribution center, as well as assisting with the teams taking goods and services into the devastated areas. |
