Disaster Relief USA (DRUSA) is deploying to Immokalee, Florida. Based upon reports from pastors in the Naples, Florida area stating that there are widespread electrical outages and no running water, a declaration was made earlier today. The need for hot meals is urgent.
The South Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen, North Carolina’s Cooking Team and Cornerstone’s Mobile Shower Trailer are all preparing for immediate deployment. Furthermore, the North Carolina Trailer, which was staged in Pensacola at the conclusion of the Harvey deployment, will be relocated. Upon arrival, the various teams will set up at Bethel Assembly of God, located in Immokalee.
In addition to the DRUSA teams, a tractor-trailer loaded with food and water is set to depart North Carolina immediately. We are especially grateful to Rev. Dwight Dunning and the congregation of Clinton Community Church who facilitated and organized the efforts to collect large quantities of non-perishable food products and bottled water. A special thank you to all the IPHC congregations in the area that assisted as well as the non-IPHC congregations who participated.
We earnestly ask for your prayers for this deployment.
