The last day of YouthQuest started off with a powerful Morning Session. The Well led the congregation in worship. This time was followed by a time of prayer led by Demetrius Miles, Administrative Director of ACTS2DAY Ministries and Director of Ethnic Ministries for Evangelism USA. Miles compelled us to pray over all IPHC Ministries and the Arise 2033 movement.
Pastor Stephen Jones preached a powerful and fiery sermon focused around this year’s YouthQuest theme: TURN. The theme verse was Malachi 4:6, “And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.”
Using the story of Elijah (1 Kings 18), Jones exclaimed to YouthQuest that, “We must turn away from the distractions and turn back to one another and to God.” To hear Stephen Jones’ full sermon, click here. Bishop Thomas H. McGhee, Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries, led YouthQuest in Holy Communion after the sermon.
Concluding the Morning Session, YouthQuest took time to honor Kaleigh Bishop for her years of service on the Student Ministry Advisory Team, as she steps down from her role. Bishop will remain on the Discipleship Ministries team but will pursue others passions God has called her to. On behalf the entire Discipleship Ministries team and YouthQuest team, thank you Kaleigh for the years of dedication and intensity you brought to the SMAT.
Groups didn’t go too far for lunch, Sunday was another talent-packed day. Students showed off their talents in human videos, instrumentals, mime, and dance.
Later Sunday night, YouthQuest presented their 6th Annual Awards Show #THROWBACK. Students dressed up in all of their “generational” gear. This year YouthQuest had nearly 200 students participating in the opening number of the Awards Show. The Awards Show was hosted former IPHC Talent participants, Johnny Bland and Tara Light. Congratulations to all the winners of this year’s Fine Arts Festival. Discipleship Ministries also wants to say congratulations to all the participants this year. We are proud of you – thank you for making this year one to remember. You can always re-watch the full awards show here.
This wraps up another successful year of YouthQuest. Thank you to all the pastors, youth pastors, parents, and all leaders involved for discipling your ministries effectively and intentionally. We love you and can’t wait to see you next year!
