On Thursday, October 4, 2018, the Vision4Education event at Holmes Bible College in Greenville, South Carolina, began with the dedication of “Leggett Way,” which is the road leading into and through the campus, in honor of the late Bishop James D. Leggett and his wife, Faye. Following his years of service as the General Superintendent of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church from 1997-2009, Bishop Leggett moved to Holmes Bible College where he served as President until August 2017. He worked tirelessly to leave the primary campus debt free. Mrs. Faye Leggett and all her children, Jimmy, Joey, Cindy, and John, were in attendance to honor the legacy left from the life and ministry of husband and father, Bishop James Daniel Leggett.
President Chris Thompson then led in the dedication of the new college van in honor of Daniel LeRoux, who served as past chairperson of the Board of Trustees for Holmes Bible College. The Greenville Chamber of Commerce named Daniel “The Greenville Citizen of the Year” in 2010. We all appreciate the time he has invested in the college.
Everyone then gathered in the Ellenberg Student Center for a time of fellowship and refreshments, followed by the V4E service in Holmes Memorial Tabernacle. The students presented the drama, “Well Glory,” based on the lives and ministry of Bishop James & Faye Leggett. At the end of the program, which included two musical ensembles, President Thompson presented Mrs. Faye Leggett with a beautiful bouquet of roses.
IPHC Conference Women’s Ministries Directors presented the college a gift of over $31,000 along with the offerings given by those in attendance, and conferences who were unable to attend. If you haven’t given yet, you may still give online. If you haven’t given yet, you may still give online.
