As we wind down our focus on “Strong in Fellowship” in Discipleship Ministries this month, I wanted to share a link to an article that immediately resonated with my spirit when a friend tagged me with it on Facebook. I realize that not everyone can identify with it, but I can because my story is so similar to the author’s story.
I have been blessed with a great group of friends; the majority of us have been doing life together for most of our adult years. Our kids have grown up together in Royal Rangers, Girls’ Ministries, and youth group. We have laughed together and cried together. We have said goodbye to parents together, and we have welcomed new life into our families. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It is that Christ-centered fellowship that has kept us grounded and focused on the important things. It is worth a reminder that our churches are the perfect place to provide ministries for these kinds of friendships and lasting relationships to flourish.
Whether it’s through adult ministries or children’s ministries, Church is the place to make it happen!
