January 19th, 2020 the IPHC family will join with millions around the nation as we celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.
On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. (January 22, 1973, was the day the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion-on-demand in all 50 states.) Churches around the United States use the day to celebrate God’s gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to abortion, and commit themselves to protect human life at every stage. Today, the third Sunday in January is recognized as the official Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. For 2020, Sanctity of Human Life will fall on January 19th.
In addition to recognizing SOHL, our presiding Bishop, Dr. Doug Beacham, and many other IPHC leaders will meet in Washington, DC on January 24nd to participate in the March for Life Rally.
“Thousands upon thousands of Americans flock to the Nation’s Capital on January 24 to remember the more than 55 million Americans who have been lost to abortion. We march to remember the moms and dads who have suffered from the pain of abortion. We march with the vision of a culture of life, one where every child is welcomed into life, and protected by law.” marchforlife.org
