In response to the hurricane disaster in Florida, DRUSA has committed to deploying its assets to assist in Southern Florida. The North Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen and the Cornerstone Conference Mobile Shower unit are being sent to Cape Coral, Florida. They will be setting up on a church campus there and will be operating for the near future. Current plans are for them to depart North Carolina on Wednesday morning (October 5) . Volunteers from across the Southeastern USA will be manning these units.
The MFK (Mobile Feeding Kitchen) is under the capable leadership of a seasoned veteran, Gordon Knox. If needed, Warren Matthews of the South Carolina Conference will lead a second wave of assistance in approximately 1 week.
At this time, our critical need is financial support for this effort. Thankfully, the IPHC family is already stepping up for the cause. This is a significant financial commitment and everyone’s participation will be greatly appreciated.
