On August 1, 2015, the North Carolina Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church honored Bishop Jim Whitfield and his wife, Regenia, as they retired from over 56 years of faithful ministry. In addition to serving as conference superintendent, assistant superintendent and board member, Whitfield also pastored churches in Florida and North Carolina, served on the Board of Trustees for both Holmes Bible College and Emmanuel College, and served the general church on the Finance Committee and the Council of Bishops.
Presiding Bishop Doug Beacham commends Rev. Whitfield for his faithful years of service, “The IPHC has been blessed with wise, godly, and joyful leaders. One of those is Jim Whitfield. Jim’s love for Jesus and people has inspired many of us. For the past six years he served on the IPHC Council of Bishops where his wisdom, humor, and warm heart made him the ‘Dean’ of IPHC bishops. We will miss him greatly but look forward to his continued ministry in the new opportunities that await him.”
The North Carolina Conference has elected Bishop Danny Nelson to serve as the new conference superintendent and Rev. Doug Bartlett as the new assistant superintendent; director of Evangelism/World Missions.
