By Bishop Thomas McGhee
It was my pleasure to serve as the presiding officer for the Life Point Ministries Annual Conference Session held on May 14th. Pastor Brad Cooper and Christian Life Worship Center served as the hosts for the event. More than 125 delegates were in attendance along with a number of visitors. I was pleased to recognize former superintendents John Ingham and Bill Jones. We also gave special recognition to:
Institutional Representatives
Brian James – Emmanuel College
Dr. Earl Beatty – Vice President, Holmes Bible College
Beulah Sturkie – Emmanuel College Board of Trustees
Missionaries
Dr. Paul Oxley
Felicia Bush
Mandy Lester
Ronnie & Margaret Turner
Former Director of IPHC Chaplains Ministry – Dr. Hugh Morgan
I was blessed to share a presentation on our core value, “We Prayerfully Value Holiness.” The presentation was followed by prayer. Rev. J. Brian Williams presented the report of the Examining Committee. The delegates adopted the report to grant ordination to Rev. Roger Atkinson, Rev. Jeff Moss, and Rev. Richard Robertson and Minister’s License to Rev. Colby Myers and Rev. Rachel White.
Bishop Tim Lamb shared his State of the Conference Report in which he stated, “The LifePoint Ministries family is expanding! LifePoint Ministries is answering our divine assignment to help fulfill the Great Commission. God has strategically positioned us as a ministry to make a difference in a troublesome world.”
Bishop Lamb emphasized four areas of his vision for the conference:
Expanding Kingdom Life
Inspiring Leaders in Servant-hood
Enrichment through Relationships
Empowering for Influence
He reported a membership of 44 churches and 154 Credentialed Ministers. The conference attendees responded by a standing expression of appreciation for his vision and leadership.
Rev. Rick Womack challenged the conference regarding the World Missions Global Outreach Offering. He introduced the missionaries who were present and gave them a few minutes to share about their ministry.
I was honored to lead in the Licensing and Ordination Service, followed by the Memoirs Report. Bishop Lamb shared the closing remarks.
Let’s join together in prayer and support of the LifePoint Ministries Conference as they endeavor to “make a difference in our troublesome world.”
