The Pentecostal World Fellowship (PWF) celebrated its 24th Pentecostal World Conference (PWC) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, September 7-10, 2016. The PWC is a triennial celebrative gathering of global Pentecostals and Charismatics.
In its PWF Advisory Committee meeting on Tuesday, September 8, IPHC General Superintendent, Presiding Bishop Doug Beacham was elected by the members of the PWF Advisory Committee to serve on the seven-member PWF Executive Committee. Bishop Talmadge Gardner remarked, ‘This is a distinct honor not only for our General Superintendent and his immediate family, but also for the IPHC family corporately.”
Also attending the PWC were Bishop Talmadge Gardner, executive director of IPHC World Missions Ministries Division, Bishop Gordon McDonald, general superintendent of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Canada and Dr. Harold Hunter, director of the IPHC Archives and Research Center.
Dr. Jose Wellington, chairman of the host committee and superintendent of the Assemblies of God in Brazil and pastor of the Assembly of God Bethlehem ministry and church, welcomed PWC attendees to their magnificent campus in Sao Paulo. The Assemblies of God in Brazil is the largest Pentecostal movement in the world with more than 25 million members. IPHC affiliate, Bishop Elisiario Dos Santos, former superintendent of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Brazil, served as Assistant Chairman of the PWC.
