New Hope Church in Columbia, Maryland, hosted the second IPHC Regional Prayer Conference for 2019. More than 300 people attended the Friday night and Saturday morning gathering on April 26 and 27. Although most of the people present were from New Hope Church, there were others present from ten IPHC churches in the area.
New Hope Church, pastored by Daniel Ahn and associate pastors Elijah and Joe Ahn, has maintained a strong prayer emphasis throughout its 25-year history. Daily early morning prayer and weekly Friday night prayer are an integral part of church life. This established atmosphere of prayer certainly added to the regional prayer conference.
Each regional prayer conference has used the Awakening Indicators presented by the Awakening America Alliance as a prayer guide. This tool identifies 20 indicators of awakening —ten in the church and ten in the culture--which serve as focal points for united prayer and strategic engagement. Not all indicators are prayed over at each conference, but ones are selected which seem to be pertinent to the geographic region and church setting.
Several indicators focus on children and youth. During this conference, we specifically prayed for this group, asking God to call more people into the role of sharing the gospel.
New Hope Church is part of the Korean American Conference of the IPHC. On Saturday morning we prayed for this conference and the leadership meeting which will be held in Oklahoma City, May 14-16.
An offering has been received for Global Outreach, a ministry of World Missions Ministries and Evangelism USA, at each of the regional prayer conferences. To date, more than $6,000 has been received.
We trust that many will plan to join the final two prayer conferences: September 13-14 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and November 1-2 in Lexington, South Carolina. For more information about these conferences, please visit our website.
