Pastors John and Marilyn Monteith in Rock Hill, South Carolina, began 2019 in prayer, seeking God for direction and a move of the Holy Spirit. Following the Lord’s prompting, Crossfit Church (formerly Rock Hill P.H. Church) began holding special Tuesday prayer meetings, focusing on prayer for one another and the community.
Their hunger for the things of God led Crossfit to hold an “equipping” revival with Evangelist Joel Crumpton from Atlanta, Georgia, on June 21-23. This three-day revival focused on practical training in evangelism and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. On Saturday, the church took the things they had learned to the streets of Rock Hill.
As people began to pray for passersby on the street, in stores, and the mall, they began to see God heal and restore. One lady, who had been unable to stand without her legs buckling, received prayer and is now able to walk with little help. Another person who had experienced four years of severe pain while walking now walks around the church with ease. Someone else received improved blood results; the doctor said, “It is a miracle! Perfect!”
Pastor Monteith reports that over three days, the church witnessed 50 healings and 18 salvations or rededicated lives. Multiple people received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and 11 were baptized in water. With a renewed passion and motivation for their community, Crossfit Church hopes to launch a ministry to the homeless and victims of human trafficking. Pastor Monteith says, “We want to do the work of Jesus right here in Rock Hill.”
Evangelist Joel Crumpton and his wife, Pat, lead Broken Pieces Outreach Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia. Each week, they feed and minister to those suffering from addiction and homelessness on the streets of Atlanta. His itinerant ministry also trains and equips churches to operate in the gifts of healing and evangelism. Crossfit Church plans to hold a second equipping revival with Joel Crumpton in September.
