Services provided by the Archives & Research Center
We collect many important historical artifacts important to the history of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. We will help you access certain materials not available through other means, but some of our materials are not available for viewing, so it’s important you reach out to the Director of Archives before you visit. Email us at: kwelch@iphc.org or archives@iphc.org.
We don’t do research for you, but we can speak with you and offer ideas so that you can do the work yourself using our online materials or by visiting the center. In some cases, it may be better for you to reach out to someone specializing in your area of interest to get advice on what types of information you might need. If we have not already provided a digital copy of a needed resource online, we may be able to send a copy to you for your research.
We are working to offer many of our resources online, so view our new database to see if what you need is already there.
Visiting the Archives & Research Center
Members of the public:
If you want to visit us at the OKC Archives & Research Center, please email us at least 7 days in advance to make arrangements. We can pull needed materials and be sure to have someone present to assist you. The email is kwelch@iphc.org or archives@iphc.org.
Not all materials housed in archives are available for research. Please send a detailed list or let us work with you to identify needed materials in advance of your visit. It is our right to determine what we will make available for research and what is restricted.
Be sure to leave food and drinks outside of the center as many of our items are rare and fragile. Please don’t bring pens or markers with you. Since materials cannot be taken out of the center for any reason, plan your time accordingly.
We are not a lending library, so if the material is available by interlibrary loan through your public or university library, we may ask that you use your local or university library instead. We usually only provide access to resources not available elsewhere.
Rules and Guidelines for use of our materials:
Viewing, copying, or quoting from the IPHC Archives & Research materials does not mean that you have a right to publish or share those materials. You must seek permission to share our materials, and you must abide by all copyright laws. Contact the Director of Archives to obtain written permission or to get instructions for how to obtain additional levels of permission, if they are needed.
Any member of the public visiting us will be required to sign a form stating you agree with our policies.
If you want to use materials made available to you through the Archives & Research Center’s online database, you must abide by copyright laws. You must also cite us as the source. You may not reprint our materials (photos, sermons, books, etc.) without written permission from the Director of Archives.
Members of the IPHC Team:
We loan certain materials as requested. We will ask you to sign a form that details what you are borrowing and then return it to us (or let us know you need it longer) by the specified date. Please let us know in advance what you need so we can have it ready for you.
Keep in mind that some materials require the permission of the Director for a specific ministry before the materials can be sent to you electronically or a copy of it picked up from archives. Please contact the Director and the Administrative Assistant as they may be able to give you permission and then send the file directly to you.
