Meet Meredith Light, our praise and worship leader for Power Chicks ’15!
Meet Meredith Light, our praise and worship leader for Power Chicks ’15!
Meredith is from the small town of Rolla, Kansas, where she grew up her entire life. She is the youngest of four children in a music-ministry driven family. Her father is a Pentecostal Holiness minister and her mother is a high school speech and drama coach. They inspired her love for singing by encouraging her, along with her siblings, to utilize the gifts and talents God has given them to spread His love. Leading worship and loving on people are her main passions in life.
Meredith is currently a junior at Southwestern Christian University (SCU), studying Liberal Arts, along with being heavily involved in campus life. She is the Vice President of the Student Government Association and a leader of Chapel Band.
Meredith absolutely loves “Thrifting” (going to thrift stores) and is most likely wearing something today that she bought at a thrift store. Meredith would like you to know that she has two obsessions: squirrels and miniature things. She thinks those are the cutest things in the whole wide world and she will squeal (out of excitement) if you show her pictures of either of them. She would like you to also know how incredibly honored she feels to be able to be a part of this celebration of one of God’s most intricate and beautiful creations, GIRLS!!
Director’s Note: Meredith was the 2014 female vocal solo winner at Youth Quest in Daytona Beach. To watch her Fine Arts Festival performance, click here. I have known Meredith all of her life. She comes from an IPHC background on both sides of her family. Her energy is contagious and I know God will use her mightily at Power Chicks. She has been instrumental in putting together our all-girl band. The keyboard player is on board as well as an acoustic guitarist. I met both of these young ladies yesterday and got to know them. They, too, are students at SCU. As soon as we have confirmations on the rest of the band, I will introduce all of them to you at the same time. This is always one of the most challenging, yet most rewarding, aspects of our Power Chicks planning.
