The weather may not feel like Christmas is around the corner, but it is for our IPHC Missionaries. In October, Women’s Ministries forwards all your contributions to Christmas 4 Missionaries along with any cards you send to the career and retired missionaries serving around the globe. This practice began in 1979 when the current National Women’s Ministries Director, Mrs. Agnes Robinson, realized that the, “monetary gifts sent to missionaries were inequitable.” She felt that Women’s Ministries could provide a solution by creating a unified fund through which missionaries and retired missionaries would all feel valued during this religious American holiday. In the first two years of the unified fund, the women of the IPHC raised $67,000 along with birthday gifts and prayer support. Over the years, many Women’s Ministries Directors have considered it a privilege to fundraise in honor of our missionaries. With the ever-increasing number of missionaries, the previous year’s donations did not equal the needs.
