November 21, 2017 will be a special day in Falcon, North Carolina! The Harvest Train is an autumn tradition to celebrate the ministry of Falcon Children’s Home and Family Services. Attendees line up their cars filled with nonperishable food items, clothing, diapers, cleaning supplies, and other home and school necessities. The Harvest Train leads the caravan and passes out candy as they ride through the campus where students eagerly greet them with decorated posters. What sounds like an ideal day, truly is a celebration for everyone involved. The caregivers, staff, and students spend weeks preparing to honor and entertain their visitors. It’s difficult to find a dry eye in the auditorium when they share a story of a student who considers the staff their family. If you have the opportunity, make plans to attend this event with your church family. It will touch your heart! Many people who are unable to attend, send their financial gift ahead of time through the IPHC. Samantha Snipes, the General Women’s Ministries Director, and some of the Women’s Ministries Board will present a final check to Mr. Joey Leggett, CEO of the Falcon Children’s Home.
