- What is the breakdown of the girls' clubs previously known as Missionettes? Rainbows through Stars exist under the MpactGirls Clubs name. Friends and Girls Only Clubs now fall under the Teen Girl Ministries name. This allows the girls moving from Stars to Friends to reflect that they are moving from the younger girls clubs to the teen girl clubs. This can reflect a rite of passage for the older girls, as they move into Teen Girl Ministries. This decision was made by the Assemblies of God denomination and the IPHC has a contract to use their materials. It allows for growth and expansion of the clubs and Girls' Ministries. It is recommended to use IPHC Girls' Ministries when referring to the ministry.
- Why did you decide to become Teen Girl Ministries and include the Friends and Girls Only Clubs under that name? Under the previous model, many girls not in Friends and Girls Only Clubs and many churches not using this curriculum were left out of Christian mentoring. By expanding to Teen Girl Ministries, IPHC Girls' Ministries creates great resources that can reach the adolescent girls, leaders, and parents raising adolescent girls.
- Will there be curriculum changes to Friends and Girls Only as a result of this change? The Friends and Girls Only Clubs as an achievement or nonachievement clubs will continue to be available and the curriculum for both will remain the same. Curriculum and awards are still available for purchase through LifeSprings Resources.
- What other changes will we see with the adoption of Teen Girl Ministries? While still promoting both older girls clubs, this gives the opportunity to provide age and topic specific resources for parents, leaders, and girls. The website has a section called "Parent's Palette" where we will address topics of interest for parenting girls of all ages. The TGM section "My Hideaway" is for middle school and high school girls.
- Are the achievement and Medals of Honor still honored under Teen Girl Ministries? A girl who is an Honors Graduate of Friends and Girls Only Clubs may still receive the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals of Honor under Teen Girl Ministries. These awards will not change and are still available to girls pursuing achievement.
- During the annual graduation ceremony or Girls' Ministries Celebration, will the Friends and Girls Only Club graduates still be honored at this time along with the younger clubs or should this be a separate ceremony? It is at the discretion of the conference and the local church to include in the ceremonies and celebrations whichever clubs they choose. One benefit of including the teen girl clubs in the celebrations with the Mpact Girls Clubs is it allows the younger girls to see the older girls as role models. On the flip side, including the teen girl clubs in a separate ceremony may make them feel that they have moved beyond the younger clubs in a spiritual rite of passage. Weigh the options and make a decision with input from your sponsors.
