Reinhard Bonnke is hosting a massive crusade at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, August 20-21, 2016. After concentrating his evangelistic efforts in Africa for more than 40 years, this German-born evangelist is responding to God’s calling for him to lead crusades in the United States during the latter portion of his life. Previous crusades have been conducted in Vero Beach, Atlanta and Houston. Bonnke has stated that through prayer God directed him to hold this crusade in Oklahoma City.
Bonnke’s team has been first class in the preparation process and have brought many faith groups together throughout the state to support the event. The IPHC has been deeply involved with more than 30 churches committed to participate in the crusade. For months, prayer efforts have been constant. People have been trained for roles as greeters, ushers and counselors. The table is set and ready for God to move in our city.
The expectation level is very high that God will do great things in the lives of people through this crusade. In May, Bonnke spoke to a group of 300 pastors. He had returned from Australia the day before the event and it was obvious that the 76-year-old evangelist was weary from travel. But when he stood to share, the fire of God and the anointing on his life filled him and then filled all of us present. “We are the fishing nets to bring people to Jesus. You, the churches, are the boats that will receive the people who are won to Christ.”
As I write this material, I just received the latest text message from the Bonnke organization. “Today’s prayer point: Spiritual Awakening in the Oklahoma Region.” That is the prayer of thousands as we approach this crusade.
