Bill Terry has announced his retirement after 12 years as the General Director of IPHC Men’s Ministries.
Bill originally began his ministry in the Redemption (formerly Eastern Virginia) Conference as a Senior Pastor at Goldmine Pentecostal Holiness Church in 1971. In 1995, he began ministering as a church planter in California, eventually transferring his ordination to the Pacific Western Conference. Bill served in local ministry for a total of thirty-two years. In 1998, he was elected as the Conference Superintendent of the Pacific Western Conference.
Bill served faithfully in this capacity for eight years before moving to Oklahoma City to take his role as General Director of Men’s Ministries in the Global Ministry Center. During this time, Bill taught at Pacific Coast Bible College, now Advantage College, as a professor, Chairman of the Board of Regents, and Acting President before being elected as the current President.
While serving in Men’s Ministries, Bill has led Disaster Relief USA (DRUSA) through some of the most prolific natural disasters the United States has ever seen. As Director of DRUSA, Bill has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars throughout his twelve years in the position, helping individuals and churches recover from tragic losses.
“Bill Terry has done a stellar job with Men’s Ministries over the past 12 years.” stated Tommy McGhee, Executive Director for Discipleship Ministries. “His leadership in both Men’s Ministries and Disaster Relief USA has been outstanding. He is going to be missed in Discipleship, as well as the Global Ministry Center.”
Bill is married to Rita Terry, née Bryant, and the proud head of an extended family that includes two sons Gregory and Rodney, daughters-in-law Holly and Brec, granddaughters Grace, Annie, Emily, and Elena, and grandson Adam Gregory.
Once his time in Men’s Ministries has officially concluded in June, Bill and Rita plan to relocate to Pennsylvania to be near family. Bill will continue to serve as the President of Advantage College, as well as a consultant for Disaster Relief USA during this time of transition in Men’s Ministries.
We pray that the Lord will continue to bless Bill and Rita Terry during this new season of their ministry!
