YQ19 Gold Sponsor: General Superintendent’s Office pt. 2

July 8, 2019 Bishop Doug Beacham

Recently, I was reading 1 Kings 20 and found something in verses 13-15 that I had not previously noticed. There was a Syrian army threat against the Israelite King Ahab demanding Ahab’s family as hostages. This was a common practice as it helped guarantee political compliance. Ahab, who was not a godly king, was torn in his response until an unnamed prophet stepped forward with a word of the Lord. Deliverance was promised by God, but the king asked who would bring the deliverance. The answer was, “By the young leaders of the provinces” (20:14, NKJV). But it was Ahab’s duty to “set the battle in order” (20:14).

The next verse then revealed there were 232 young leaders in the provinces who came forth to be agents of deliverance (20:15).

When I read that, I thought of the young people of the IPHC. I thought of those who will gather at YouthQuest. The 232 young leaders represent thousands of IPHC youth around the globe that I believe the Holy Spirit is calling as pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and anointed young leaders in your schools and future jobs.

This is why #232 has taken hold in my heart. I am praying that you will hear the Holy Spirit call you to a closer walk with Jesus. As the IPHC reaches into the future with Arise 2033, I am praying for a #232 generation to “arise” and serve the mission of Jesus around the world!
