In April Discipleship Ministries announced the launch of their new Student Ministries Advisory Team (SMAT), along with Team Leader Stephen Jones.
Discipleship Ministries is pleased to announce the following members of the Student Ministries Advisory Team. This Team will focus on equipping, networking, and resourcing DM Directors and youth workers in their assigned region, as well as representing the various portfolios that make up the SMAT.
Stephen Jones stated that, “not only am I confident that God will honor our efforts and faithfulness to serve students all over the IPHC, but I am genuinely grateful for the chance to serve on a Spirit-led, Spirit-empowered team”.
Brittany Galavin will represent the Evangelism portfolio of the Team. Brittany is a Licensed Minister in the Tennessee Valley Conference with a Bachelor’s in Business Marketing from the University of Memphis. She has studied under Bishop Manuel Pate and is currently his assistant in the Tennessee Valley Conference. Brittany has a huge heart for evangelism and discipleship. She is the Director of Next Level Discipleship School in Nashville, Youth Pastor of Friendship World Outreach under Pastor Josh Hannah, and coordinator of Short Term Teams for Mission 615.
Josh Lafferty will represent the Bi-Vocational Leaders portfolio. Josh serves as the worship pastor and youth pastor at Bethany Church in Quitman, Mississippi. In addition, Josh is a 7th grade social studies teacher and a coach at Quitman Jr. High School. Josh is currently assisting as co-pastor of a ministry project called The Well, which is centered on the pursuit of revival in the city of Meridian, Mississippi.
Kaleigh Bishop will represent the Logistics and Communications portfolio of the SMAT. Kaleigh is a graduate of Southwestern Christian University and a born-and-bred Oklahoman. Since 2011 Kaleigh has worked in the Discipleship Ministries Department of the IPHC, specifically in Student Ministries. Her areas of expertise include graphic design, social media marketing, writing, promotional design, typography, and event planning.

The SMAT will also be conducting a FORUM at Youth Quest 2015 to introduce the new focus of Student Ministries. The FORUM is open to anyone interested and leaders are encouraged to attend.
